Artist's Statement                

 

  •  Painting is the path to my inner world; it is my source of spiritual sustenance.

  •  Painting gives me creative power; it allows me to project my inner confidence.

    •         

  • While I will claim to paint consciously, I know my unconscious is the true ruler. The willful concentration of the act of painting frees my imagination.

    •          

  • Form must to be clear, and Line is essential. While Color is important, it does not have to be extreme. Moderation must infuse every element.

    •         

  • I know a piece is done when it begins to emanate its own sense of life - this is when a work begins to have its own soul.

    •  

  • Attention to craftsmanship in technique is a natural part of my personality.

    •  

  • Viewing my work - more so than reading my words - is the best way to sense the elusive truths of my perceptions, responses and experiences.
